1 ½ lb ground meat
2 Tbsp. olive oil
1 Tbsp. crushed red pepper flakes
1 tsp. dried basil
Salt and pepper
¾ lb button mushrooms, quartered
4 tsp. minced garlic
5 scallions, thinly sliced
24 oz. jar tomato sauce
2 Tbsp. chopped parsley
Cook pasta according to directions on box. Set aside in large bowl.
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add ground meat, red pepper flakes, dried basil, 1 tsp. salt and ½ tsp. pepper, stirring occasionally until meat is no longer pink. Add mushrooms, garlic and scallion whites, stirring until vegetables are softened. Lower heat and add the jar of tomato sauce and let simmer for 10 minutes.
Pour meat sauce over pasta toss well. Sprinkle top with parsley and scallion greens as garnish
