The Jewish Federation of Greater Middlesex County – Another At-Home Gourmet Cooking Demo
Hey Kosherstreet Fans,
Last night I had a terrific time in Edison, NJ (despite the snow and sleet) doing yet another fun and exciting cooking Demo for my new cookbook the At-Home Gourmet. This was sponsored by the women of the Jewish Federation of Greater Middlesex County and was hosted in the really beautiful home and kitchen of the very generous couple Mr. & Mrs. Shimoni.
The demo was specific to cooking Indian, Thai, and Asian Cuisine – making it kosher, making it easy to do, and making it friendly for any “home” chef to do for Dinner. These wonderfully ladies (and man) sat through a great night of cooking recipes like my Thailandi Salad, Asian Potstickers and Indian Curry Coconut Fish with Pasta and Vegetables. (recipes are all currently on this site waiting for you to download)
So even though the drive in to Edison from Lakewood NJ took longer than anticipated because of this crazy Spring weather of – SNOW! things starting off with a great bang. Mr. Erez Shimoni (a terrific home-gourmet and baker in his own right) put me to shame with all his delicious cookies and pastries that he made for the ladies to
sample. And despite me calling him Shimoni (his last name which I thought was his first name) a whole night, he most graciously shared his secret chocolate chip and oatmeal cookies with me – so I can post it all for you to see on kosherstreet. Try them – I had at least 2 of each – they were awesome.
I must thank Audrey Napchin the committee head as well as all the friendly and warm people who attended this Demo and who afterwords were so kind and gracious with all their compliments. – It was a pleasure and I hope to do more with you guys in the near future.
I am posting pics for all you fans to see – till next Demo – Happy Cooking! Sarah

Sarah: I went last night thinking I’d go to just be with friend since I don’t usually like curry, coconuts, and peanut butter (except in sandwiches) but the pot stickers and “Thailandi salad” were AMAZING!! Now how to get my husband to eat veggies…. He’s a pure “meat and potatoes” ashkenazi man. Thanks again!
