It was always my original dream to open up a flower shop/slash cafe – more flowers than cafe (get it taste-BUDS) – But for some reason my dream store ended up being more cafe than flower (my next store-lol!)
Anyways I love everything and anything that has to do with flowers, and I decided that once a week on Fridays I am going to give away my best tips, advice and flower how-to’s over to you guys on KS.
The truth is that you can never really do wrong when it comes to flowers – you just have to let yourself be creative and not get intimidated or bogged down by these supposed “must-dos” and styles – If you love how it looks – that is really all that counts.
Be Inspired by Flowers!
FLOWER TIP OF THE DAY:
KEEP IT SIMPLE
The use of one type of flower, or one uniform color is usually so strong and dramatic, a little goes a long way. Or if you have a bold vase – ornate or colorful – a simple flower or two is all the vase needs to show off its elegant beauty.
Flowers should be used to express the way you feel (thru color, thru style of arrangement etc.). Depending on what flower you use ,how you arrange it, what materials and colors you use, location of flowers – all of this lets you create an ambiance and feeling for your table or room.
It’s hard to describe the feeling I get when I walk into my house and fresh flowers are scattered amongst the rooms- an instant good feeling and a sense of happy welcome.
My arrangements don’t have to be expensive and large – Normally I pick up some fresh cut flowers at my local grocery or farm stand.
Usually when it comes to vases and holders, depending on where or how I want to display them or what type of style I am trying to achieve, my decision for what type of vase or flower holder then comes into question. I have used everything from the standard glass vase, to vintage soda bottles bought at flea markets, to tea cups and eggshells.
There are no rules – other than – so what is beautiful in your eye and enjoy the beauty that a flower can bring!
Have a wonderful peaceful Shabbat!
