Saturday Night Drink: The BEST Iced Coffee–The Perfect Party Drink!
It’s Saturday Night and it is CHANUKAH PARTY TIME!!
A fantastic drink can really make your party – and it doesn’t have to be fancy or alcohol based. Especially on Chanukah, which to me is always is a party for the KIDs and the BIG Kids we all really are.
This is the perfect party drink to make, everyone will love it and it can be made in advance and keeps well in the fridge till you are ready to serve. And for those who are craving something a little more adult, go ahead and pour in a shot of Kaluah or Chocolate Liqueur – HEAVEN!
The key to fantastic ICED coffee is making sure you have a full bodied and robust coffee blend to use as your base and that little pinch of cinnamon.
When I am making this for a party, I like to make the coffee part for this drink first and let it sit and cool down totally before pouring it into the ice and milk.
For parties, I also like to make my ice coffee a little richer and creamier than I would normally drink on a regular day. I therefore have no problem using a little heavy cream in combination with my regular milk.
However feel free to make this as dietetic as you would like.
Ingredients:
1/4 –1/2 cup Coffee Grounds (favorite brand) (more grounds you use the stronger your coffee flavor will be)
2 1/2 cups hot water
2 cups Milk
1 cup Heavy Cream
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 cup of sugar (or as much as you would like for taste)
Crushed Ice
Directions:
Using a coffee filter inserted into a small mesh strainer that is fitted over a bowl- fill the coffee filter with your grounds, pour your hot water in and let the coffee strain through into your bowl. Use the back of a spoon to push down the grounds and to get every last drop of coffee trough the filter.
Refrigerate the bowl for at least 20-30 minutes to cool down.
In a pitcher pour in the milk, cream, extract, cinnamon and sugar and mix well . Refrigerate.
When ready to serve, Pour the coffee into the milk mix and blend well. Put some crushed ice in your cups and pour over. Serve with whip cream !
Tip: you can also make this a Mocha Ice Coffee, by adding Chocolate Syrup to your milk mix.
