Wild About Stripes!!
Hey KS fans,
Along with many designers and design bloggers I can safely say that we LOVE STRIPES…using stripes in home design is a great inexpensive way to add chic-ness and flair to your walls! by either using striped wallpaper or painting stripes with different tones on the walls you can customize the look to suit your taste. Stripes are classic and beautiful in any room of your home. From bathrooms to living rooms to kid’s rooms to basements- it is all about how they are applied. it is so much fun to play around with multiple sizes of stripes and different color arrangements on the stripes. Horizontal stripes make your space appear wider and larger. Vertical stripes make your space seem taller and draw your eye right up.
*Designer Tip: when using thin and thick stripes together and varying colors, make sure not to use more than 3-4 colors or it can look like a circus!
The power of stripes is really amazing.
Neutral living room with just the right size and contrast on the stripes.
fun striped mosaic tile boy bathroom
awesome multi colored striped kids playroom
a focal wall of interesting stripes works well with the calmer white upholstery.
this is really great and reminds me of those paul smith socks i always see…
super comfy and casual front hallway- brown and white horizontal stripes in varying widths.
juicy color choices and different sized stripes makes an exciting playroom/ kids bedroom.
orange creamsicle and smooth beige stripes are great in a guestroom. i like the play on hanging photos or art in each stripe.
gorgeous living room with alternating grey-brown and lilac stripes. it feels very soothing and feminine yet the geometric pillows add interest.
fab bedroom in one of my all time classic color combo of grey and yellow.
Why not stripe your nursery? Soothing tones are surprisingly soft.
Stripes of light blue, medium blue and white. So simple yet so great!
In my design practice, I have used stripes in bathrooms, nurseries, master bedrooms, playrooms, dining rooms and on and on…stripes are vivid, graphic, and just downright extraordinary and the best part- they are so simple to paint in your own home!
Hope you enjoyed this weeks post…i look forward to bringing you some more home design inspiration and visual candy for your eyes next week!
xoxo,
Marissa
