How to Keep the Family Party Going A Little Longer: A Fantastic Party Activity Idea
The Family Birthday Chain Letter
A few years ago at a family Chanukah Party, I realized how sad it was that we, as an extended family which is quite big, really do not keep in touch as much as we should.
Aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandparents, brothers and sisters, our family has gotten together for Chanukah. For some this is a once a year annual get together for others it’s a rare occasion.
However or whenever this occasion occurs we usually revel and wish for the camaraderie to last longer than that one short day.
So I was inspired; Why not take this opportunity to gather the birthday dates of all your close relatives and
start a new tradition that will bring the feeling of solidarity and family that you felt this Chanukah Party
night back many throughout the rest of the year ahead?
The IDEA: In these times when electronic mail and cellphones are sometimes our only means of
communication, you are reviving the old-fashioned letter sending method of a signed birthday card to
every member of your family with well wishes from all. Creating a lasting tangible note of love.
Step 1: Choose one person to be the keeper of the calendar.
Step 2:At your family party fill in all the dates of your close relatives birthdays
Step 3. Gather all the correct addresses for all your family members.
Step 4. 2 weeks before the family members’ birthday, the designated keeper sends out a birthday card in a manila envelope that is enclosed with sticker address labels that are numbered. They mail out the card to the member numbered 1on the address label and a note explaining the chain letter steps.
Step 5: .As the next family gets the birthday card, they sign their names and a little note if they wish. They then affix the label of next congruous address label and mail everything to the next family member.
Step 6: This continues until the last label is mailed to the birthday person her/him self.

Great idea!!
